Dear Students, Parents/Guardians, and Staff:
New state regulations have changed the water testing requirements for schools. This morning it came to my attention that Dirigo High School's first test under these new guidelines suggests somewhat elevated levels of lead in one sink (Room 206, Sink #3).
All other locations easily passed inspection. The State has recommended retesting of the one location that did not pass, and that will happen this week. The sink will not be used until subsequent test results come back negative.

RSU 56 will work with State authorities, A&L Laboratories, and other vendors to promptly address this issue.

Attached please find the official public notice and educational materials required by law. They are also posted on the Dirigo High School website.

If you have any questions, please contact our Buildings, Ground and Transportation Department at (207) 562-4300.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work to resolve the issues identified by these results. We will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure that all of our students and staff have safe, quality water from all fixtures at Dirigo High School.
