Due to poor road conditions on some back roads, RSU 56 will be going with a one hour delay this morning, Monday, March 23, 2026.

Due to the incoming snow and wind, there will be no afterschool activities in RSU 56 today, 2/23/26. This also includes the DES Cougar Cub After School activities.
Good Morning from RSU 56.
Due to bus driver shortages today, 2/9/2026, a few of our bus runs will be combined this afternoon. The runs for busses 1, 3, 4, and 14 could be approximately 15-20 minutes later than their normal drop off times.

Good Afternoon from RSU 56,
Due to an outside power issue at Dirigo Elementary School we are going to do early dismissal today, 2/4/26 across the entire district. Students will be released at 12:30 today.
There will be NO 21st century program at the Elementary school, and NO middle school wrestling practice today.
Dirigo High School, and Dirigo Middle School will still have after activities as scheduled, but parents will need to bring their students back to the school at those times.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Good Evening from RSU 56. Due to the winter storm that is forecasted to continue through the day tomorrow, there will be no school in RSU 56 tomorrow, Monday 1/26/26. Stay Safe and we will see the students on Tuesday!
Good Afternoon from RSU 56. Due to being short bus drivers this afternoon 1/21/26, students that normally ride on Bus 1, 14 or 24 may be around 15-minutes late on their drop off time due to consolidating bus runs. We apologize for the inconvenience.
